Among all the other countries in the world, Pakistan is ranked number second on the list of deaths caused while taking selfies. There is a report named ‘Me, Myself and My Killfie’ which is presented by Carnegie Mellon University, USA. According to this report, after India, Pakistan has highest death rates while taking selfies that are now regarded as Killfies.

India appears at top of the list with 76 selfie deaths, and then on the second number comes Pakistan with 9 recorded selfie deaths. After Pakistan, 8 selfie deaths have been recorded in the USA. Then, speaking of other countries, 8 deaths recorded in Russia, 6 deaths recorded in the Philippines, 4 deaths recorded in China and 3 deaths recorded in Spain.

We can say that Pakistan is ahead of USA in something but that something is again a negative thing which we cannot be proud of. Here is the list of deaths recorded due to selfies in Pakistan.

June 2015

A 15-year-old boy was fired to death when he was taking a selfie with a toy gun, but the police thought that it was a real gun.

December 2015

A 22-year-old man was taking a selfie on a railway track while the train was heading towards him. He got hit by the train and died instantly.

9th August 2016

An 11-year-old girl was taking a selfie while standing at the Kunhar River Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when she slipped and drowned. Her mother saw her drowning and jumped to save her but couldn’t make it. When the girl’s father witnessed the scenario, he also jumped to save them but all of them eventually drowned to death.

20th August 2016

Another drowning death case was recorded at the same Kunhar River when a man slipped into the lake while taking a selfie. His cousin standing nearby jumped to save him but both of them slipped away and drowned.

21st August 2016

Three women were standing under a glacier at Lake Saiful Muluk when the glacier above their heads fell off crushing them all.

Deaths due to selfies are increasing rapidly, all due to the selfie craze of people which should be controlled.
